An Update on Alzheimer's Disease Diagnosis and Therapeutics

Target audience: All Neuro Providers and all other specialties.
Learning objectives:
How is Alzheimer's Disease best diagnosed?
We will review available biomarkers, including serum testing, cognitive testing, spinal fluid analysis, and nuclear medicine scans.
How is AD treated?
We will review the new amyloid targeting monoclonal antibodies, their efficacies and risks, and who is a good candidate for these drugs. We will also review the non-DMT options for AD treatment.
How can we help a patient with AD in a 20 – 30 minute neuro appointment?
Brief review of AD resources that can be given by any neurologist wanting to help someone with cognitive impairment.
